Hey Friends,

Today’s manifesto is your guide to reclaiming your feminine energy by understanding your natural rhythms and how you can stop glorifying masculine ideas of consistency. This is for the woman who feels like she's constantly battling procrastination, burnout, and overwhelm as she tries to fit into a system that just doesn't feel right for her. Let’s explore how you can embrace your cyclical nature, let your body be your guide, and still achieve consistent action—but on your terms.

Why We Glorify Consistency and Masculine Energy

As women, we are often taught to glorify consistency, hard work, and linear progress. These ideals stem from a masculine energy that is celebrated in today’s world—a world built on productivity, hustle culture, and the idea that showing up the same way every day is the only way to achieve success.

But here’s the thing: masculine energy operates in a linear way. Men’s hormone cycles reset every 24 hours, so it makes sense for them to structure their productivity around that. However, feminine energy is cyclical. Our bodies, minds, and emotions ebb and flow over a longer timeframe, often connected to the 28-day cycle of our menstrual phases. The problem arises when women try to squeeze themselves into this 24-hour mold, which results in exhaustion and a feeling of inadequacy when they can't keep up.

This is something I’ve experienced firsthand. For a long time, I tried to force myself to be productive in the same way, every day. I thought consistency meant showing up at the same level, with the same energy, no matter how I felt. But as I began reconnecting with my feminine energy, I realized how much I had been overriding my body’s wisdom.

We’ve glorified consistency because we’ve been told that’s the only way to achieve results. We’ve praised masculine energy as the ultimate framework for success, and as a result, we’ve detached from the beautiful, cyclical nature of the feminine.

How Aiming for Consistency Sets Us Up to Fail

When women aim for consistency without acknowledging their cyclical nature, they often set themselves up to fail. Our energy doesn’t function in a flatline; instead, it ebbs and flows. By aiming to be the same every day, we push ourselves into burnout, procrastination, and resistance, especially when our bodies are naturally pulling us into rest or introspection.

I’ve seen this cycle over and over with myself and the women I work with. We have these bursts of creativity and energy followed by times where all we want to do is rest. But because we’re taught that rest is unproductive, we push through, only to hit a wall. Then comes the guilt, the frustration, and the feeling that we’ve failed.

A guide on how to shift your mindset from a place of hustle to a space of feminine flow, which aligns well with working in cycles.

Understanding the Four Seasons of Your Menstrual Cycle

One way to break free from the idea of linear productivity is by understanding the four seasons of your menstrual cycle:

  1. Menstrual Phase (Winter): This is your time of rest and reflection. Just like winter is a time of hibernation, your body is asking you to slow down. Take this time to review what’s working and what’s not, and allow yourself to rest without guilt.

  2. Follicular Phase (Spring): After menstruation, your energy begins to rise again. This is the time for new ideas and beginnings. Just as spring is a time of rebirth, use this phase to brainstorm and plan.

  3. Ovulatory Phase (Summer): Ovulation is when you are at your peak energy. This is your ‘summer,’ when you feel most confident, social, and ready to take action. It’s the perfect time to tackle big projects and collaborations.

  4. Luteal Phase (Fall): As you move toward menstruation again, your energy begins to wane, and you may feel the need to tie up loose ends. This is the time to complete projects, review details, and prepare for your next phase of rest.

When I began aligning my self-care, work, and exercise around these phases, everything changed. I no longer felt guilty for needing more rest during my ‘winter’ phase, and I capitalized on the high energy of my ‘summer’ phase to get things done. This understanding is the key to embracing your cyclical nature and moving from a space of flow rather than force.

Letting Your Body Be Your Oracle

Our bodies are incredibly wise. When we stop forcing ourselves to follow a linear path and start trusting our natural rhythms, we open ourselves up to a deeper connection with our feminine energy. Let your body be your oracle—let it guide you. If you feel resistance, procrastination, or avoidance, it’s likely a sign that you’re trying to push through a phase where rest or introspection is needed.

The truth is, nourishing your feminine energy will lead to more consistent action in the long run. When you honor your body’s signals and align with your natural cycles, you’ll avoid burnout and be able to sustain your energy for the things that truly matter.

How I Design My Habits and Routines from My Feminine Energy

Incorporating my feminine energy into my habits and routines wasn’t easy at first. Like many of you, I was so used to structuring my day based on productivity, rather than how I felt. But when I started listening to my body, things really started shifting for me. One of the main reasons I started this blog is because I wanted to listen to my body, but I didn’t know how. I can now tell you that the business I have today, was born from me allowing myself to do what feels good in my body. Even though I still have a 9-5 at the time of writing this blog post, I still find ways, even in my job to listen to my body’s guidance.

I started by designing my work and personal life around my energy levels. For example, during my ovulatory phase, you could plan bigger projects, meetings, and social events. This is when you’ll probably have the most energy and confidence to tackle these things. During your menstrual phase, block off more downtime, focusing on self-care, journaling, and reflecting. This can be a real game changer for your business and well-being.

I’ve also learned to incorporate self-compassion into my day-to-day life. Some days, I just don’t feel like doing what’s on my to-do list, and instead of forcing myself, I now ask, “What do I need right now?” Practicing self-compassion has helped me lean into my feminine energy and trust that rest is just as important as action.

The Importance of Self-Compassion and Embracing Life’s Seasons

As women, we often think we have to do it all, all the time. But the truth is, life has seasons, just like our bodies do. There are times for rest, for growth, for action, and for reflection. When we learn to embrace these seasons and align our lives with them, everything starts to flow more naturally.

Practicing self-compassion is key. There will be days when you feel like you’re not doing enough, but remember: rest is productive. Reflection is important. Trust that your body and your feminine energy know what you need.

How to Practice Consistency, the Feminine Way

Now, I know what you’re thinking: “But I still need to be consistent to get things done!” And you’re right—consistency is important, but not in the way you’ve been taught. Consistency from the feminine perspective looks different.

Instead of showing up the same way every day, try working with your energy. Design your habits and routines around your natural rhythms, and you’ll find that you’re more consistent over time because you’re no longer fighting against yourself. This is how you create sustainable action—by working with your energy, not against it.

Working with a 28-Day Cycle of Creation

One of the best ways to practice consistency in a feminine way is by working with a 28-day cycle of creation. This involves mapping out your tasks and projects in a way that aligns with the different phases of your menstrual cycle. You’ll have times of brainstorming, action, completion, and rest, all in a balanced flow that honors your feminine energy.

For example, during your menstrual phase, focus on planning and reflection. Use your follicular phase to start new projects, and your ovulatory phase to take big action. During your luteal phase, complete what you’ve started and prepare to rest again. This cyclical approach will help you stay on track without the burnout that comes from forcing linear consistency.

But Wait. I don’t have a menstrual cycle!

For women who don’t have a menstrual cycle, whether due to menopause, hormonal imbalances, or other reasons, it’s important to know that you can still connect with the cyclical nature of your feminine energy. Even without a physical cycle, you can tune into the natural rhythms of life and the world around you. Many women find alignment by following the phases of the moon, which mirrors the same energy patterns of rest, growth, action, and reflection. You can also pay attention to your emotional and energetic ebbs and flows throughout the month, allowing yourself to honor those natural shifts in energy. By embracing these cycles, whether they are internal or external, you’ll still be able to move from your feminine energy in a way that feels authentic and supportive.
