Hey Friends,

In today’s manifesto, we’re diving deep into something crucial but often overlooked: the subtle disconnection from pleasure that many of us feel—especially those of us building a business or managing multiple responsibilities. Recently, I had a powerful, five-hour conversation with my friend Toran McGill, who embodies all things pleasure as "The Pleasure Priestess." Her wisdom illuminated a simple truth: when we’re disconnected from pleasure, we block our ability to manifest, create, and simply enjoy life.

This conversation opened my eyes to how worry—whether about my business, finances, relationships, or any future uncertainty—can quietly take the reins. Without realizing it, I found myself operating from a mindset of "When will it finally happen?" rather than from a space of calm confidence. It’s a subtle but powerful shift, and it makes all the difference. When you’re tethered to worry, you’re cut off from pleasure, and in turn, you’re cut off from manifesting with ease.

If you’re feeling this disconnection too, read on because we’ll explore practical steps to help you reconnect with pleasure, release worry, and build a mindset that invites the flow of everything you’re manifesting.

The Mindset of "When Will It Happen?" vs. The Mindset of Pleasure

One of the most eye-opening revelations from my conversation with Toran was recognizing how much my inner dialogue centered around "When will it finally happen?" I know I’m meant to transition to a full-time income with my business, and I believe in it wholeheartedly. Yet, this question—this impatience—was quietly running the show, creating an underlying current of tension and disconnecting me from the pleasure that’s my birthright. And here’s the kicker: we often don’t even notice this mindset until we pause to really listen.

How often do you find yourself focused on "When will this work out?" Whether it's about business, family, or personal growth, our worries and doubts tend to creep in, overshadowing our pleasure. And when we’re operating from this space, we’re blocking the flow of what we’re working so hard to manifest.

Morning Pages: Uncovering the Thoughts That Run the Show

To tackle this, I’ve started a practice that I’m calling Morning Pages. This idea, popularized by Julia Cameron, (I’ve not researched her or her concept, I simply heard it on a podcast and decided to try it) involves simply writing down your thoughts first thing in the morning. It’s become a powerful way for me to bring those sneaky, subtle worries to the forefront. The process reveals what’s really running the show—those persistent, yet unacknowledged thoughts we shove into the background.

Here’s how I do it: I start each morning by writing down whatever is on my mind. No filtering, no judgment. It’s incredible how thoughts I believed were “under control” surface as loud and clear drivers of my decisions. When you see these thoughts in black and white, you can truly assess them. Are they based on love and trust, or are they rooted in worry? Morning Pages help you bring clarity and awareness to your predominant thoughts, especially those that may be holding you back.

Moving Beyond Worry with Morning Lines (aka Affirmations)

Once my thoughts are clear, I shift to what I like to call Morning Lines, a practice of writing affirmations or "invitations" to myself. These aren’t just random affirmations—they’re invitations to step into a mindset that serves my highest self. They serve as gentle nudges, encouraging me to see beyond my current worries and into the version of myself I aspire to be.

Think of affirmations as an invitation to up-level. After identifying the thoughts that no longer serve me, I consciously choose affirmations that resonate with the feeling I want to embody. Here’s an example: If my worry is "What if my business never takes off?" my morning line might be, "I am guided and supported in every step toward my dream business." These lines remind me of who I am becoming rather than who I’ve been.

Recognizing and Shifting Frequencies: From Worry to Pleasure

The next step is actively recognizing the energy I’m operating from throughout my day. Are my actions guided by pleasure and trust, or by worry and impatience? When I catch myself slipping back into worry, I don’t shame myself. Instead, I acknowledge it with compassion and ask, "How would I like to feel instead?" It’s not about instantly changing everything—it’s about gradually tipping the scales, bringing pleasure and calm back into balance with worry.

As women, many of us naturally default to worry and doubt because we’re conditioned to. Our society tends to prioritize productivity over pleasure, leaving us with a low-level hum of fear or uncertainty. Shifting this mindset takes practice, but it’s possible with gentle awareness and commitment.

Protecting Your Energy and Staying Aligned

Here’s a surprising benefit: when you practice reconnecting with pleasure, you’ll begin to notice how other people’s energy affects you. I’ve found that when I’m rooted in my pleasure, it’s easier to recognize when others are operating from a low-frequency energy, and it becomes simpler to protect my own energy. I don’t match their energy or give in to their negativity; instead, I hold onto my sense of peace and joy, creating a new energetic standard for myself.

It’s a constant practice—recognizing when you’re vibing with low-level fear, doubt, or worry and intentionally choosing to up-level to a frequency of pleasure and peace. This process requires patience, but it’s profoundly rewarding as it helps you become the woman who vibrates at the frequency of her desires, not her fears.

A Practice for Reconnecting with Pleasure

If you’re finding yourself in a similar place, here are some steps to bring pleasure back into your daily life and shift out of a mindset of worry:

  1. Morning Pages: Start each day with unfiltered writing to uncover your true thoughts.

  2. Morning Lines: Use affirmations as invitations to embody the energy and mindset you desire.

  3. Check-in Throughout the Day: Regularly ask yourself, "Am I operating from pleasure or worry?"

  4. Energetic Boundaries: When interacting with others, hold onto your energy without taking on theirs.

  5. Compassionate Acknowledgment: When you feel worry creeping in, acknowledge it with love, then shift to how you’d rather feel.

These steps aren’t about forcing yourself into perpetual joy; it’s about meeting yourself with love, compassion, and gentle awareness, guiding yourself back to pleasure as often as possible.

As you continue on your journey, remember that aligning with pleasure isn’t about ignoring challenges; it’s about cultivating a space where you can meet challenges without losing your connection to peace. Let this practice bring you closer to the frequency of the life you’re manifesting.

Live pleasurably,
